SCBAOW Refund Policy

As with most second-hand sales, there are typically no refunds. This is particularly true for single-use items such as wedding, bridesmaid, prom and mother-of-the-bride outfits.

Disputes

Buyers on SCBAOW are fully protected if their item arrives significantly different from the listing description, or doesn't arrive at all. Buyers may open a dispute through PayPal (our recommended provider for sending and receiving payments), where both parties submit evidence and PayPal makes a final decision. Buyers must send the item back at their own expense to complete a refund.

Change of Mind

Oops! If the dress or outfit isn't quite the buyer's style, or doesn't fit, they can always re-sell it on SCBAOW. If they fell in love with it, chances are someone else will too. As standard, a change of mind does not give a legal right to a refund.

In-Person Sales

Deals made in person are final. Meeting in person allows buyers to inspect the item thoroughly before completing the purchase.

PayPal Seller Protection

PayPal Seller Protection is provided to Sellers at no additional cost. Eligible transactions are safeguarded when a buyer raises a claim, chargeback, or reversal for the following:

• Unauthorised transaction: the buyer claims they didn't authorise the purchase, didn't make the purchase, or were a victim of identity or card theft.
• Item not received: the buyer claims they never received the item they purchased.

For an eligible transaction, PayPal will reimburse the full amount of the eligible payment and waive the chargeback fee where applicable. Please note that claims or chargebacks for items "significantly different from description" are not eligible for Seller Protection.

Seller Protection is offered by PayPal, not SCBAOW.

How Do I Get Paid for a Local Pickup Sale?

If you're selling on SCBAOW and arranging a local pickup with your buyer, you can still receive payment safely:

• Request payment through SCBAOW chat. Once the buyer has inspected the item, simply send a payment request and they can complete the transaction instantly.
• The buyer confirms and completes payment immediately, so you receive the funds securely before handing over the item.
• Once payment is received, you can confidently hand over the item and complete the sale.

Please note: there is no Seller Protection for local pickup sales. When meeting in person, sales are final.

Sales Made Outside of PayPal

Discrepancies arising from sales made outside of PayPal will not be undertaken by SCBAOW and any issues will be solely between the buyer and seller. We strongly advise using PayPal for both buyer and seller protection.
